Klasse: Disruptive Behaviour and Executive Functions
For Klasse, we created an educational explainer video that clearly and accessibly explains why students sometimes display disruptive behaviour and how that behaviour is connected to their executive functions — such as working memory, impulse control, and cognitive flexibility.
The video starts from a recognisable classroom situation in which students like Emma, Yassine, and Janne struggle with concentration, impulsivity, or following steps.
A professor from KU Leuven explains in the video how differences in executive functions can account for this behaviour, and how teachers can strengthen these functions through emotional, instructional, and organizational support in the classroom.
Approach and working method
We translated this scientific content into a clear, visually engaging explainer video.
The professor was filmed against a green screen, allowing us to enrich the background with animated visualisations that clarify abstract concepts without creating distractions.
Our animations — built from vector illustrations in Klasse’s recognisable style — clarify processes such as memory, attention, and flexibility.
We add animation only after the edit has been fully approved, ensuring the balance between explanation and visuals is optimal.
During the final stage, we brought visuals, sound, and animation together into one coherent whole, including colour grading, sound mixing, and subtitles (delivered as SRT files for use on YouTube).
Since the video was intended solely for publication on the website and YouTube, a single landscape version was sufficient.
Result
The explainer video illustrates how we combine substantive depth with visual clarity.
We created a video that makes complex themes such as executive functions understandable, relatable, and applicable for teachers, thanks to the right balance between realistic footage, clear animation, and strong content focus.
The result is a thoughtful, educational production in which we translate scientific insights into classroom practice in an accessible and visually engaging way — fully in line with Klasse’s mission to inform, inspire, and empower teachers.
