Documentary report for the Flanders Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food
Flan Caramel was commissioned to create a documentary report for ILVO. The Flanders Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (ILVO) is a leading scientific research institute operating under the authority of the Flemish government. The institute focuses on developing innovative and sustainable solutions for the agriculture, fisheries, and agri-food sectors. Through applied and practice-oriented research, ILVO contributes to improving the economic and ecological performance of these sectors.
Mission & Vision
ILVO aims to develop scientifically grounded knowledge and technology that contribute to the sustainable growth and competitiveness of Flemish agriculture and fisheries. The institute seeks to provide solutions to the challenges these sectors face, such as climate change, food safety, animal welfare, and economic pressure.
Goal
The main goal of this documentary report is to produce a video interview that takes a deeper look at the current state and future of Belgian coastal fisheries. By allowing the fisherman to tell his own story, we capture an authentic and personal perspective on the challenges, changes, and hopeful prospects within the sector. In addition, the report highlights the fisherman’s vision of coastal fisheries. Finally, it also presents the broader context of the sector, including the impact of international developments such as Brexit.
