Téthys Naval – Incident Management & Good Governance at Sea
Téthys Naval is an international organisation that works on safety, risk management, and good governance at sea. Also called Incident Management & Good Governance at Sea.
They train maritime professionals, officers, and policymakers on topics such as incident management, legal responsibility, and governance in complex maritime environments.
For their training programme, they were looking for a way to translate this academic and often abstract subject into a clear and visually engaging video that would also be understandable for non-specialists.
Goal
With the video, we wanted to show how incident management and good governance reinforce each other at sea.
We explained how decision-making, reporting, and cooperation contribute to safety, trust, and transparency in an international context.
To reinforce that message, we chose cut-out animation.
In this style, we combine flat illustrations and collage-like elements with smooth movements and layered compositions.
The technique allows us to visualise complex concepts quickly and clearly, without unnecessary details or realistic rendering.
The cut-out style gives the video a professional, accessible, and symbolic look.
By consciously using rhythm, colour, and hierarchy, we guide the viewer through the content with ease.
This way, we transformed a theoretical subject into a clear, layered, and visually powerful story that perfectly aligns with the mission of Téthys Naval: making good governance at sea tangible and understandable.
