Flan Caramel supported the City of Deinze in their campaign "#Deinze2040." The campaign unveils the long-term vision of the city in the video. The city aims to fully embrace innovation and sustainability.

The city's vision for 2020 is for Deinze to become a place where you can enjoy all seasons, with all facilities accessible within a 15-minute bike ride or walk from the city and town centers. This includes shops, offices, schools, healthcare, culture, and recreation.

CHALLENGE

The campaign previously published the city's ambitions.
 But, more was needed to reach the people of Deinze. There was a need for a more accessible medium and clear visualisation.

Commissioned by Deinze, Flan Caramel made 2 explainer videos to communicate the city's future vision. One video deals with the city's overall vision, while the other is more technical, explaining the Spatial Policy Plan.

The challenge for both videos was to clearly explain the concept of density.Deinze wants to evolve into a soft city that brings people together and where various people's activities are brought together to offer a better quality of life. On the other hand, the focus of the visualisation was on bringing recognisable elements and locations of the City of Deinze.

3D-ANIMATION

To best address both issues, we opted for 3D animation.The entire city was modelled in 3D after which we were able to visualise, at both macro and micro level, the city's changes.By collaborating with the Urban Planning Department, we were able to arrive at the right visualisation and create a future image of 2024 for the city.
